Welcome to the website of the “Lovely & Uppermost” Lambda Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Founded on the campus of Howard University on January 15, 1908, our organization has a 115-year history of providing programs of service that uplift our communities at home and abroad. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is the first Black Greek-lettered sorority established for college-educated women. Today, we have more than 1024 chapters and 300,000 members worldwide working together to implement our International Program, Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood.
The Lambda Upsilon Chapter was chartered on October 8, 1977 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and its membership consists of the college campuses of Wellesley College, MIT, and Harvard University. Through the years, the members of Lambda Upsilon Chapter have been committed to sisterhood and service to all mankind and having a positive impact on their campuses and communities through their local programs. The chapter also makes efforts to collaborate with other organizations on campus to broaden their impact and establish goodwill.
Alpha Kappa Alpha shows its commitment to service through our five current international program targets,
